This Shopify theme review is commissioned in partnership with Clean Canvas, the experienced developers behind Enterprise and Canopy (opinions are my own)
Choosing the right Shopify theme for dropshipping can make the difference between just getting by or rocket to the sky — because it’s not just storefront appeal that makes a great theme, and not all themes are suited to the dropship model.
As one of the Shopify Theme Store’s original theme partners supporting over 100,000 active Shopify merchants, Clean Canvas have learned first-hand what features matter most to high volume dropshippers, and built the Enterprise Shopify theme from the ground up for dropshippers that want to take advantage of the latest capabilities of the Shopify platform without needing to build new features or use 3rd party apps.
Why choose Enterprise for your dropshipping theme
Built for large catalogs
Large assortments means more collections, longer product lists and more need for user-friendly navigation.
Enterprise makes it easy to set up and manage your catalog taxonomy (your category and subcategory structure), create helpful collection filters and product finders quickly.
Built for bigger baskets
More products means more opportunity to cross-sell and offer exciting promotions.
Enterprise has product recommendations and promotional blocks out-of-the-box, and lets you place them anywhere in your site (including mega-menus and cart drawers).
Built for creativity
To differentiate your shop from other dropshipping resellers, you want a theme that lets you enrich your content with additional product detail tabs, rich content, FAQs, compare tables, documents and buying guides.
Enterprise makes it easy to build creative landing pages, place banners in the right places and show off your brand personality.
Built for performance
A slow website bogged down with bloated code and apps hurts your bottom line. Google tracks your page speed through Core Web Vitals, and factors performance in your search ranking. Not to mention, Google’s data shows every second delay can drop conversion by 20%.
Clean Canvas have gone the extra mile to architect Enterprise for speed by nixing JavaScript libraries and using code splitting to optimize the way browsers fetch content for lightning-fast interaction.
See how smoothly Enterprise flows between clicks, applies selections and loads content.
And with so many native features already inside Enterprise, you can drop many third party apps that inject additional scripts that slow down your site (and save monthly charges).
Built for conversion
Enterprise makes browsing, filtering, comparing and even applying coupons much faster, supporting the customer journey from landing page to checkout.
Clean Canvas’ theme designers are deep experts in user experience (UX), responsive design and conversion optimization and have applied best practices into every layout and component.
Top tier support
The Clean Canvas team are ex-Shopify with deep knowledge of the Shopify platform and its themes. With Enterprise, you’ll get highly responsive support when you need it.
They also keep Enterprise regularly updated with releases to ensure you can use the latest and greatest functionality that Shopify brings to the platform over time.

Tips for choosing a Shopify theme
Whether you go with our Enterprise theme or something else, keep these tips in mind.
Stick to the Shopify Theme Store
When choosing a theme, make sure to always using the official Shopify Theme Store and only the theme store.
Each theme in the Shopify Theme Store has been internally approved by Shopify to ensure they meet standards for clean code, site performance, mobile responsiveness, security and user experience.
Third party marketplaces have many available options, but Shopify does not allow theme developers to list in both the official store and third party sites. This means none of the themes you find outside of Shopify’s Theme Store have been approved by Shopify, and Shopify support will not help you with problems that arise from third party themes.
Free vs Premium Shopify themes
Inside the Shopify theme store you’ll find free themes created by Shopify and paid (Premium) themes built by Shopify partners.
Free themes come with standard sections and features out of the box, but with fewer features than Premium themes that have more in-built functionality that you can use right away. To get on-par with Premium themes, you’ll need custom Liquid blocks coded for you or use third party apps.
For example, Shopify’s free Dawn theme is minimalist by design. It’s a popular foundation for custom theme developers to build on, because they have the coding skills to tweak their template their way. It’s what developers do (and want to do)!
But for busy business owners that want to minimize overhead and get selling faster, the few hundred dollars to purchase a feature-rich theme can save big money in the long run.
Why should I use a Premium Shopify theme instead of free?
While you can start with free and move to Premium later, migrating to a new theme requires you to re-build settings and customizations into your new theme and verify that all apps are still working properly.
Choosing the right theme from day one saves you this effort down the road and ensures you’re taking advantage of Premium features right away.
